Erica Tucker Lewis, 31, of Orange Park, passed away on March 17, 2015.

She was a native of Orange Park. She graduated with honors from Orange Park High School. She also graduated from the University of South Florida with a Bachelor of Arts in international studies and minored in Spanish. She was captain of the USF women's soccer team. She continued her studies at Vermont Law School and earned a Juris Doctor and master's degree in environmental policy and law.

Her academic career was enhanced by numerous internships, including the Congressional Executive Commission on China, Vermont Public Interest Research Group, South Royalton Legal Clinic, Beijing (China) Arbitration Commission, U.S. Army JAG Corps, and the Terrorism Research Center.

Erica most recently worked as an attorney at Tucker Lewis Law Office PLC. Prior to her work as an attorney, Erica worked as a contract manager at Clara Martin Center as well as a manager at Absolute China Tours in Hangzhou, China. She also taught English at Baishan School in Qingdao, China. Erica's volunteer experience included the Red Door Church and the Community Thrift Store.

Ms. Lewis had a great love for competitive sports, especially swimming and soccer. She played on and coached various soccer teams for many years. Erica was a scholar athlete, and was a four year starter on the Orange Park High School soccer team, graduating in 2002. She played college soccer at two top 25 ranked Women’s Division I teams, FSU and USF, and was captain on the USF Women’s Soccer team. She played professionally in Lecce, Italy and coached the Randolph Union High School women’s team in Vermont. She had a passion for languages and was fluent in Spanish and Chinese. She traveled and lived abroad many times and would always acclimate herself into the culture.


Erica is survived by her parents, Gary and Susan Lewis; two brothers, Garry Lewis and Dan Lewis; two nephews, Jacob (Emily) and Dominic (Bryn); grandparents; aunts; uncles; and many cousins.

She had a big heart to help people in need. She was very articulate, outgoing, determined and loved to learn. She was a brilliant and caring woman. Her family and friends loved her greatly and will miss her intensely.
